HOW ACTIVATE TO CAPTIVATE STARTED
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved bringing stories to life. After I received my Theater degree from UC Berkeley, I went to graduate school at UC Irvine to get my MFA in Acting. While I was working towards my degree, I started teaching public speaking classes to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. I realized then that instead of bringing stories to life on the stage, I could help others bring their own stories to life through teaching presentation skills.
When I graduated, I found myself wanting to teach these techniques full time. I launched my own communications company, Activate to Captivate. Now I teach communication skills in a variety of environments including universities, nonprofits, and corporations. I lead short workshops, day long courses, and coach people privately for specific events.
I am incredibly lucky to have a job that I genuinely love.
